First of all, welcome to Allnurses!

Second, YES! LOL As I'm sure many of the others here do, although I wouldn't presume to speak for anyone. However, I can finally see that it is indeed a light at the end of the tunnel as opposed to a freight train.

YES!!!! IT IS NEVER GOING TO BE OVER!..I feel sometimes like I am stuck in a horrible twighlight zone episode involving a cruel cycle of never ending education.

I think a dog hiked its leg and peed on the light at the end of my tunnel.....where the heck are the matches to get that thing going again?????

Hang in there GI Med. We've all been there. I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. Of course there was that rough clinical day a few days ago that made me wonder why, oh why didn't I go into some other field in which I would not have to deal with bodily fluids and the like (like law) ...... but then I had a good day the next day and realized i really was going to enjoy nursing. That's the way it is with being a nursing student .....and I guess nursing will be like that too. When you get to the end of the tunnel...dance!!

I can relate, I've been going to college for 5 years and I'm just now finishing pre-reqs (will FINALLY have junior standing after this semester). Some days I feel REALLY burned out.

Its funny that you say that because just this morning I woke up and have completely felt wiped out about the school thing. It made me think of the movie scence in Lord of the Rings where Frodo says to Sam...."I can't do this Sam".............he just had this look about him that kind of sums up how I feel today....So yeah....I agree with you it does seem like forever.....but we all have our "Rings" to bear....We must carry on and it will be worth it. I know it will.....but like today every once in awile I still have a bad day.....

I feel the nursing burnout, and I haven't even completed school yet! Counting down, but it seems like graduation will never get here!

I just want to give all of you a few words of encouragement. I just graduated in December so I was just in your shoes and all I wan't to say is it is sooooo worth it! I started my first job as a NURSE this week and I am loving it! I got the job I wanted at the hospital I wanted and I feel like I am living my dream everyday! It is the best feeling. Granted I have not taken my boards yet, but I am not worried. I can't imagine the feeling I will have after passing my boards.

Hang in there, take it day by day. My last semester I started the first day by saying to everyone "this is our last first day of nursing school, ever!" They all laughed at me. And every week I told them how many more days until graduation, they laughed at me. But the last day of class they all thanked me for being their cheerleader, and keeping them going. I didn't do it for them I did it for me, it kept me going, but I am glad I got to help them along too. Do whatever it take to keep yourself going, because it is so worth it when it is all over and you get to call yourslf a nurse!

I am feeling really tired and burnt out this semester as well for some reason. But that is ok, life is not always fun right?

I am kinda at a confusing point right now with what I want to do and I think that is making everything worse for me. I am not sure if I want to do nursing, I am not sure if I want to pursue MD or PA....I feel like I don't know what to do! I know I will figure it out and I think this is actually good for me because its forcing me to think about *why* I want to pursue whatever it is I am interested in. OK, that got kinda off topic, but just something that has been of unrest in me lately.

I felt the same way 2 yrs ago. I couldn't decide whether to be a PA or RN, since I was interested in both. I did eventually decide to go with the RN school route and happy with it. I'll probally go to PA school later down the road though.
