scholarships?

Have you tried appling for a Pell Grant it pays 2000 for each semester and you can keep what ever is left. If you are eligible you must be a full time student to get the Maximum benifits and keep a 2.5 GPA also if you are eligible to join Phi Theta Kappa there are many scholarships you can apply for and you may also get scholarships you dont apply for I recdeived an invitation for 2 5000 dollar scholarships I didnt apply for. you can also do a search on scholarships on this BB there are many links posted to this board

Make sure that you have filled out FASFA. This will help your school identify your financial aid needs. Also do a scholarship search online and check with your state department of higher education to see if they have any nursing scholarships etc. available.

thanks guys. I did FAFSA and everything. I've been in college two years already, just wondered if y'all knew of any thing else. Thanks for the recommendations! I haven't had a chance to really search for any scholarships. I love this website. NC isn't really pushing for nurses right now...they are more worried about the teaching crisis. I guess I can understand that but I just wish there were more programs geared towards students who are really working hard to pursue a nursing career. I'm gonna get some rest. I live in Western NC trying to get into the Asheville Buncombe tech program next year. I am also applying to WCU this year in case I don't get into ABtech. I just might be doing the hour drive each way. Anyway have you tried fastweb.com? They ask you questions and match you up with scholarships you are eligible for. I am in the process of looking into that now. Also try cfnc.org. It is loans and stuff from the state. They have one for nursing. It is a loan that if you agree to worka year in NC (I think anywhere you want in NC) for each year they give you money, they forgive the loan. If you decide in the future you can't work in NC the loan has a 10% interest rate.

You might sign up at Fastweb.com. They will give you email updates about any scholarships that you might qualify for. Also check out campusrn.com. They have a scholarship area that is quite extensive. I have received 2 scholarships through my school that will pay almost half my total tuition bill! There's money out there... hope you find some!
