Rio Salado Bio 202??

by as27

Anyone out there taking Bio 202 at Rio Salado?
I am hoping to sign up for the class (16 week), possibly the 8 week.

Any comments or experiences?

Hello, I would like to asked how you did on your online class on BIO202. I just finished my BIO201 and would like to see a schedule of an 8 week BIO202. Bio teachers usually posts their weekly schedule that students follow as a guideline. Do you still have it? May I ask for a copy?

If I were you I WOULD NOT take BIO 202 @ Rio Salado. I am taking Bio 202 @ CAC (Central AZ College) online and the whole class is an 8 week accelerated one. The teacher from what I've heard is VERY caring and understanding of everyone's situation. The whole class (books, notes, etc ) are online and the total cost of the class is 60/per credit hour (so $240!) CAC will work with your financial situation too if cost is an issue! I would recommend checking it out b/c everything I've heard about Rio is that it's HARDER THAN HARD!

thaanks Nicolemsm. I will check CAC. Its also true that it seems BIO classes, so far as the one I have taken BIO156, BIO201 was awfully hard. Not to mention that I unfortunately got teachers that doesn't like my writing style. Its all about how many points can you achieve and critical thinking. I miss the traditional style... go to class, read the major points emphasized in the lecture. Online is read everything and pray that the portions you remembered are the one given in the mid/final test.

juliusmyn I know exactly how it feels to have teachers who don't like your writing style (yet you also have teachers who enjoy it and mark you high..) It's like you can never win with some teachers and that's how I have always read and thought Rio Salado to be. I personally have not attended any Rio classes, but when the vast majority says that a class is hard/teachers aren't very good/ instruction is terrible I take that as scary!I completely agree with the "go to class, read the major points emphasized in the lecture" statement you made- that's the learning I like too! I completely agree, with online school you basically have to self teach and it's VERY difficult (and even more so when you're learning intensive stuff like bio!). I wish you luck in finding a good program, but for sure, check out CAC! They're rates are VERY affordable and you can take them online (or on campus) whichever style works best for you!

I am taking BIO 201 right now through Rio. I think the class is challenging, but it works for me and my situation. There are a lot of people who have taken this class and have done just fine. I am halfway through and have a B. I also am working two jobs (one is a graveyard job-I can study at work), have two kids and a husband. It's all about your frame of mind and how determined you are. I wouldn't avoid a class just because a few people have said it's hard.
