Im only 22 going on to 23 and I sometimes feel like by time im done im too old...yes I know im silly.
I performed better at school in my 30's than in my 20's. I think that it was possible for me to get better with age because I better understood my priorities, my commitments, coping skills, and limitations.
You may not be where you need to be academically, but it's not fair to say that you'll never get there or that you'll be too old when you do. Try to learn from your mistakes. You can't implement a good plan if you don't have one. You can't create a good plan if you have a poor diagnosis. You can't base a diagnosis on a poor assessment. The first step is performing a good personal assessment of your strengths, weaknesses, and desires.
Good luck and don't be too hard on yourself. It was harder to think of the long-term when I was younger, but it's necessary. It's what allows some of us to suffer the loneliness of studying when others are out playing. It's what allows us to weigh when to say no when asked favors by friends or family.
