Re-Wording a sentence

  1. 0 Hi I am really struggling to re-word the sentence (that is quoted) academically in my assignment, any suggestions please fellow nursing students?? Steven* is a 20 year old male who was admitted to hospital as an emergency admission following an ST Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI). "Steven developed an Acute Myocardial Infarction after taking stimulants; smoking cannabis and taking cocaine".

    Thanks In Advance xx

I think I would take out the 'stimulants' part and just put that he had the MI after using cannabis and cocaine. I don't believe cannabis strictly falls under the category of stimulants.

Right. Cocaine is a stimulant, but marijuana is not. How about...

Steven is a 20 YO patient admitted through the ED for STEMI which occurred following his use of cocaine and marijuana.
