A Question for ADN Students and Grads

Tuition and fees (basically everything paid to the school): ~$28000 total
Books: $752 so far, probably another $250 before I graduate
Uniforms: $190
PDA (required): $550

So overall $29,750 total. This is for a 3-year private school. I took 4 gen-ed classes and 4 nursing classes. It would've been more if I didn't transfer in 6 classes from my previous degree.

I go to a "for profit" career college. $34,000 for everything. Includes uniforms, all books (and you can keep them), NCLEX fees, even prereqs. It's much higher than most schools, but after two months of prereqs, the "nursing" program is only 15 months. Worth the cost to me to be working a full year or more earlier had I gone to a traditional school. Good luck!

I'm going to a small community college. My entire degree with all miscellaneous fees/book/uniforms/... will be less than $7,500.

The university I am shooting for will probably cost around $12k for tuition (including all pre-reqs) but I don't know how much for books and other misc stuff.

The cost of 2 year degree at a community college is so reasonable. So far, to complete the program with tuition, books and lab fees, it will be around 3,500.00. I consider that very cheap to get a great education and come out with a degree that is marketable.

That is awesome! I looked at the local CC we have that overs the ADN and it would be around $7500. I would definately go that route if the waiting list wasn't 2 years long.

Thats the way I think too. The quickest way for me is to go through a private career college at almost $50K, but it would only save me about 6 months, so the state university I am at is the next best choice. About 1/3 the cost and my second quickest route.

Community college here. I am guessing about the same $7500 for school, books, uniforms, ect.... The child care actually costs significantly more! Ug!

I am really glad my school only had a one semester wait! I am lucky that the first time I applied was for last spring, knowing I would have to say no if I got in for that semester. I was pregnant with twins due in April. They were born in March. There is no way I could have started then. So the first semester I could start, I got in for!
