I am looking into some scholarships from hospitals for when I start nursing school in the Fall. The work commitment after graduation is six months full time employment as an RN in exchange for every semester funded. I'm confused about what happens if they are not hiring at the time I graduate. Do they allow me to work somewhere else, or do I have to wait for them to start hiring again? Does this mean I will be more likely to get a job after graduation at this particular hospital since I used their scholarship program? Any info would be great. Thanks!

If you can get a deal like that, take it. I would expect that you would have preference in hiring, since they already have your name on a contract.
But this is a good question to ask the hospital when you apply for the scholarship. "Does this guarantee me a job with you when I graduate and pass NCLEX? What if you aren't hiring then?"
