Question about NET Test?

The test consists of math & reading concepts. As far as the math goes, you'll be tested on adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing......both whole numbers & fractions. If you haven't dealt with fractions in awhile, then I would advise familiarizing yourself with them as there are many questions dealing with fractions. There are also a few algebra questions, but nothing too difficult. I was not allowed to use a calculator, but I have heard other people claim that they were able to use one. Find out whether your school allows it or not.

The reading comprehension is based on how long it takes you to read the paragraphs & also finish the questions that are asked regarding the content of what you just read.

I went into the test without studying (because I had no idea what to expect either) & scored 89%. I didn't find it to be a difficult exam. The one thing I didn't like about it is that it's computerized (at least at my school it was), so once you answer a question, you cannot go back & change it. I know there is a study guide out there for this test that costs around $34. I was advised that it wasn't worth the money, but it's your choice if you feel the need to see exactly what to expect on the exam.

I was not able to find any web sites with anything informational regarding the NET. That was last year though, perhaps there might be something out there now.

- Thanks for the info.

- I stopped at out local Barnes & Nobles Bookstore yesterday, but did not see any study guides related the NET.

- The campus bookstore (closed Sat/Sun) sells some type of study guide for this exam. Will run up there later next week during lunch hour at work, and take a look at it.

- Gotta run. A&P 101 finals on Mon (lecture) and Tue (lab).

I took the NET and it was a piece of cake. I also bought the study book, but really didn't need it. Ours was pencil & paper, so we could go back and change our answers if we wanted (for that same section).

Most people seemed to think it was a breeze. I got my results the following week.

The LPN Program I am in required an ASSET test (college placement test somewhat similar to the ACT) and if you met the minimum on that then the NET

Placement in the Program pretty much depended on your score on the ASSET

It had been almost 30 years since I had any type of formal education, so I thought maybe I should brush up on on anything I could! I went to the public library and asked if they had any books on studying for the ACT test (All of these tests are generally similar in format) - there were a number of different titles, and I really believe that basically any of them will help you out - Just browse through them and let one tell you to choose it

I passed both the ASSET (did well enough to get a tuition paid scholarship!) and did very well on the NET - Two of the people who took the ASSET with me did not score high enough on the ASSET to be accepted by the Program - - I told them about going to the public library and both retook the test and then took the NET and were in class with me when Orientation rolled around!

Check your school's library too. My school had a study guide for the test that you were allowed to only look at in the library.

Since I knew my english skills were fine, I just went through the math section noting any questions that I wasn't familiar with or that I knew how to do. I was taking a math class at the time so my math teacher actually just went over those questions with me and I passed the NET with a rather high score. I forget what it was at this point though.

I also took the NET to enter schoo, I didn't access any sites but I used a net test book that was sold at the bookstore for 30 bucks. Lots of reading/comprehension stuff, and as far as math goes i had NO algebra

I had to take the NET. I also thought it was VERY easy...but I heard some people say the math was hard for them. As long as you can add/subtract/multiply/divide fractions you should be fine. You also would want to brush up on how to do ratios. I had seceral of those types on there as well as decimals. Some of the ratios may be fractions to whole numbers as well.

The test takew a long time. It has 3 or 4 parts on it that do not count. Just your run of the mill personality/learning styles analysis.

We had the paper test and could not use a caculator.
