My biggest fear is to find out when it's all said and done that I just BS'd my way through school and I'm really just an incompetent boob in scrubs.
Since graduation and "RN-hood" is only about a year away for me now, and therefore within the forseeable future, my biggest fear would be something along these lines ... just a generalized anxiety about the responsibility I'm taking on. Most of the time it doesn't bother me, just every once in a while at about 0300 ...

You know, something that's so awesome about these forums is that a lot of my fears have been helped by reading about everybody elses fears! I think before I stumbled onto this website I thought I was the only person who was unsure, afraid etc.. and that everyone else was excited, thrilled, and totally secure in their abilities to excel in the nursing program. My gosh it's just soooo nice to know I'm not alone!!! I was talking to another student going in this fall the other day and we were talking about when you reach that point where you've received your letter and you're totally excited that you got in... followed by that point where you start to sweat and think "Oh my god, what have I gotten myself into??!!" He looked at me and said "You mean, you're feeling nervous too?" I leaned close and said "I'll tell you a secret Rob, EVERYONE'S feelin' it!"

WOW, I have thought this also. I got all A's, but once the classes were over, POOF!!! I can't seem to remember a thing. :uhoh21: I am so afraid I will not be able to remember anything.

    Same here!
Also about forgetting everything I've learned... I don't retain things well unless I am continuously doing it.

    Biggest short-term fears are...

    1) failing this CNA clinical exam I have in a few weeks
    2) not doing well enough in my Nursing courses to get into a Master's program if in the future I'd like to
    3) poop somehow getting into my mouth while on the job (sounds silly but honestly!)

everything. I am just 18 and have now clue what is in store for me in adult hood. I mean i don't have kids and am not around accidents or messes. Afraid i'll mess up on something(calculations, iv, shots, meds, anything)... But most importantly failing the program. NURSING is all i ever wanted since i was young. It is my life it will ruin me if i don't make it through the program. Pray for me all to make it through. I will work my *** off to get through it. GOOD LUCK to all going into the nursing program with me as the class of 2006. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YALL and HOPEFULLY YOURS WITH MINE.

HOPING TO GET THROUGH THE PROGRAM AND BE A #1 NURSE.
SO READY FOR MAY 2006.. THEN IF I MAKE IT I'LL BE A NURSE :hatparty:
I AM TRYING TO BE OPTIMISTIC. I KNOW I CAN DO IT I JUST HAVE TO PUT MY MIND TO IT
