Paid or volunteer experience better?

Taking a CNA class, since summer and fall will be slow school wise for me, and have found out about two possible options for after. A good, fairly new hospital, in a great area has several options for direct patient/family care and support. The floors are Women's, Surgery, Recovery, Telemetry. It's like rounding on patients, family support, changing linens, stocking supplies, etc. It is volunteer. Or there is paid shifts available at the LTC were I'll do CNA clinicals and I have a good chance at a shift there.

Is a paid experience always better? Will I see more in the hospital on those floors, than I would participate in LTC? I'm not looking for income, I'm looking for exposure, so which would be the better option? I will probably have a least one clinical at the above hospital in N/S.

Paid experience is far better. Volunteers get to do very little.
