Orientation in January...anyone else?

  1. I found out our orientation isn't until January, but I'm still not sure of the exact date. Did anyone else have their orientation so close to the start of the semester? Did your semester start later than everyone else's? I'm curious to know how this works. If anyone can be of some help I'd appriciate it. Thanks in advance!!!! :wink2:

I didn't have an orientation at all. We were oriented as a part of the first week of classes.

I'm starting Nursing school in January as well. My orientation is a week before classes start. We'll be able to purchase our books, class notes, and content outlines after the first of the year I plan on doing that so I can have a heads up on what to expect (as well as avoiding the long lines at the bookstore!)

Also, my school posts their Nursing Handbook online. I've downloaded that as well...I figure that the more info I can get on the front end, the better....I don't want to be scrambling around for things the first week of class.....

My orientation was 2 months before I started. It was a congrats to you, here's our two year school schedule , and have a piece of cake on us.

I wish they would of put together an informational packet to get us ready. Now that I see how crammed everything is in the first semester, I would of loved a review of AP and micro, nutrition and human growth.

I recomend pulling your old books out and reviewing a little bit at a time. I also recomend reading a couple of books for pure enjoyment. Because once school starts, recreation ends~~

Congrats on getting accepted. Good Luck

Definately read for leisure BEFORE nursing school starts, there's no time after it starts!

Our orientation was on Monday, and classes started on the next day, Tuesday. (Then we had our first test by Thursday!)

Oh yeah, definitely great advice-reading books for fun. Gosh I have the time travelers wife sitting on my nightstand 3/4 of the way through and who knows when I'll find the energy to read it. That and clean your whole house because after school starts-NO TIME.

Oh man isn't it upsetting. I start school January 12th and my orientation is January 11th. The worse part is that they give you al the information for uniforms and everything at orientation. I dont get it. Why would they do that?

I'm worried this will happen to us too. For all I know our orientation could be the day before school starts as well. I just wish I knew SOMETHING! Arg! Oh well, atleast I can say that I'm finally starting. I just wish I knew what to get so I'm more prepared.

    Good luck everyone!!!!! :spin:
