I am trying to decide if I should do the nursing nutrition class online or on campus. Most of the people in the nursing program I will be taking classes with for the next year will be taking it on campus. I have yet to meet but a few people in the same class as me. Online I don't have to get a sitter for my son while I am in class. I also won't have to worry about going to class in the morning after working all night.

The online class has all its work online so no tests on campus.

Which one would you take?

It seems like the online class will work better for your situation. Nursing school is a group effort so it is good to know your classmates well....but you will have a chance to get to know your classmates next year, whether you take this class on campus or not. So dont worry! :) But it seems like it would be more convenient for you to take it online! Good luck!

We didn't even have an actual class, it was just kinda integrated into our fundamentals class. we took online quizzes over chapters. Can you guess how much I actually learned? Diddly squat. I think I would have done a helluva lot better with a class.

Online!!! Nutrition was the class that everyone skipped, anyway. :) It was ok though because our professor actually wrote the textbook so it's not like the test material was going to be any big surprise.

I just finished an on campus Nutrition class that was once a week for 2 1/2 hours!!!! Jeez I skipped a good deal, because that was WAY TO LONG for nutrition. I found it really intersting, but as long as you read the book, and went to the class right before the test to get the study guide and did the study guide, and did the online tests that the book publisher offered I did fine. I got and 96% in the class. It is a very easy class compared to some of the other classes. I am taking Physiology distance learning right now and it is a pain because there is so much reading and processes to memorize!!! Nutriton will be an easy online class.

I LOVED my online classes. If you're a self motivated person, I'd definately cast my vote for the online version! Good luck! :)

I took it online. Hard part was huge tests taken online with very limited time, but this was a problem of that particular instructor, because everybody complained about it. I made an A anyway. The class didn't worth the drive to campus for me.

If the format of the class doesn't matter to you academically then always go with what's better for your family. For example... I chose Chem in a class format instead of on-line even though it wouldn't work as well for my family because I needed the lecture (I felt) in order to pass! Every other class that's been offered on-line (including nutrition) I've taken on-line because it allowed me to be home more with my daughter. If your only concern is getting to know your classmates I can assure you that a lot of bonding will take place during those first few weeks of nursing school, have no doubt! Believe me you will soon be spending more time with them than your family!

Tooty, I say take the online nutrition class, If and when im accepted to OU I will take the online class because for one I live in Detroit and Im 20-30 mins away from campus and to make that drive alone is not a fun one. Consider when the weather changes here again and the roads are a mess and traffic is bumper to bumper. Im sure you will interact with your classmates in patho and pharmacology. Eliminate the drive (depending on how close you live to campus), the time to be home with your son. I would suggest online.
