OMG!!!! I finally got the call!!!

I just got the call from the admissions department inviting me to start clinicals in January!!! OMG!!! Unbelievable!!!

My school starts 40 students in August and another 40 in January. It is completely based on a "meet these minimum reqs, first-come, first-served" basis. Not even a 4.0 will get you in any sooner than when your number comes up. The last person that was given an invite got hers over 3 weeks ago. It had been so long since then that I had completely convinced myself that the class was set and there would be no more opening (from students deferring until August.)

I had come up with a plan B, C, AND D.... had registered for other courses AND had convinced myself that it was MUCH BETTER that I would be starting clinicals in August (last I knew I was #4 on the waiting list so August was a shoo-in.)

Lo and behold...... I got the call.

Now I have to DECIDE if I really should start in January, or if I have been right for the last month in convincing myself to wait...... AAAUHHHH!!!:roll :roll :roll

I don't think I'll be sleeping much tonight!! LOL

Congratulations!!!

Your number has been called...time to start clinicals!!! :)

Do the happy dance and go for it, the door is open!!!!

Go for it!!!

*weasel dances* YAAAAAY it's a sign from above, START already!

I just the "call" myself... it was in the form of a letter though! I received the *good news* Christmas Eve. I know exactly what your talking about! My school runs things the same way as yours & I thought all spots had been filled. I'd registered for my two remaining classroom-based classes & also knew I was a shoe-in for fall. But, when I got that letter... believe me... I did the happy dance & I'll be starting my clinicals January 13th!! You go girl... you'll be done an entire 16 weeks sooner this way! HA... we both will.... YEAH!!

BTW, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Thank you everyone, for your kind replies!!!

My main hesitation was based on finances and childcare. We are building a house, and me attending clinical courses would mean that hubby would work less hours...producing less money to finish the house...kwim?? (We're basically self-employed.)

Anyway......hubby came up with an excellent solution for childcare and he insisted that I do whatever would make me happy. :) He said we'd work everything out somehow..... What a great guy! :)

Sooooo........I got my little butt into the advisor's office on Friday morning, signed all the papers and registered for the 1st semester clinical course. WOOHOOOOOOO!!!!

Oh, yes, AND... I bought my fundamentals book, and got the first reading assignment that is due on day one. LOL :roll :roll :roll

The fun begins...............

:)

You should go for it. The same situation happened to me and I am sooooooo glad that I started when I did. That much closer to my goal!! You will do fine and I wish you the best of luck!
