Hi everyone!

I just wanted to start a forum for all who applied to OHSU's ABSN-MSN/DNP program for 2018-2019. I thought it could be helpful to stay updated with interviews, admission decisions, or sharing stats in order to improve applications the following year.

I applied for the Psych ABSN-DNP Track!

Hi!

I applied for the Pediatric Primary care ABSN-MSN. I'm anxiously waiting to hear back, checking my phone 18 times an hour.

Yes! I am from the East Coast and didn't think it was possible for a New England January to feel even longer than it usually does! I haven't received updates from any programs (applied to four) and it is so anxiety provoking.

I've got another thread on this subject going too, if any of the info over there is helpful. Super nice to hear from other folks though! Just personally waiting for the FNP ABSN-MSN track.

Hello all! I just started an account and browsing allnurses furiously for any interview tips (it all seems very hush hush) because OHSU just called me earlier today to schedule an interview for the CNM ABSN-DNP program. :D It looks like Midwifery has the earliest interview dates though so I'm not sure if my experience translates to your programs very well. :( Hope to hear from everyone with good news soon!

Thanks for letting us know! From what info I'd been able to gather off here, it appeared candidates last year were hearing back about 4 to 7 days before the interview dates. This seems to confirm that it'll be working the same way this year. Makes me feel a lot better to know.

It's nice to be in good company. My family thinks I'm a little nutsy for how anxious I am about hearing back from OHSU. I applied for the psych ABSN DNP track. I had a rough couple years almost 15 years ago in undergrad and thought I had redeemed myself with a stellar grad school, but it has come back to haunt me like a ghost from christmas past.

Good luck, guys! Keep posting updates so I can try to keep my nails from being totally chewed off.

Hi all,

Thanks for starting this thread! I applied to the Fall 2018 CNM/MSN program and am also waiting anxiously for an interview invite. I know the Midwifery Program has early interview dates, and then another interview cycle Feb 2-3. I got on Vanderbilt's waitlist last year for their Midwifery Program, so I'm praying I get into OHSU because it's exhausting applying to a bunch of places! Best of luck to everyone!

Hello All!

I am so happy to have found this thread as I have been beyond nervous ever since the application deadline passed - as I know you all understand! I applied to the ABSN-CNM program and was getting very discouraged up until now as I have yet to hear from OHSU. This is my first time applying so I am trying to be realistic while still being hopeful! I'll update this thread if I hear anything more. Fingers crossed, and good luck to you all!

This is my first year applying as well. Is it likely for one to apply multiple years in a row before being accepted? I am trying to manage my anxiety by keeping my expectations as realistic and low as possible :)

Yes, I have been looking at that thread as well, haha! I thought I'd start one to include all of the specialties in case others were interested. But I saw the FNP and PNP and felt the same way - like I was less alone anxiously waiting.

I have heard of individuals who have applied a couple years in a row, but others have applied for the first time and were accepted. It's hard to tell. The direct entry programs seem to be more holistic, as they know some people may be looking at the program after years in another field or a degree in something completely unrelated. Because of that, I also wouldn't be as worried about your rough couple of undergrad years.
