Also, keeping in close, friendly contact w/ the actual A&P proffessors is also a very good idea. Also might I add, be ready for A&P, its hard. and depending on the school, it may be very hard,.
The registrar told me to do this. They had a tuition deadline. The next day over 100 of us lined up starting at 6am to register for classes where students didn't pay their tuition. I got A&P (Saturdays, summer session, 9am -5pm). It sucked but here I am 1 year of nursing school completed. ALSO, I guarentee that people will drop after they first 1-2 weeks, especially after the 1st exam. See if the instructor will allow you to participate but hold your grades.

Check neighboring schools also...tuition will be a bit higher if in a different county, but atleast you'll get the class.

This is so true especially if you are trying to get classes at a CC in a large city. I took my Chemistry is another state. The drive wasn't that much longer considering that I would have had to pay big time parking in downtown Philadelphia versus a CC in the NJ suburbs (free parking). Also, my tuition was actually cheaper, even out-of state. At the time, the Philadelphia CC was $115/credit (for a Philadelphia resident, which I am) and the NJ CC was $85/credit (out-of-county & out-of state).

My physiology instructor said he was once aware that the class was filled in less than 10 minutes after registration began. Just as fast as the computer could handle the registration requests, the spots went. The only thing one can do is to be patient or make the decision to take an online course somewhere and have it transferred in.

Just call some professors and explain your position. So many people drop out those first few weeks that the classes won't stay full for long.

Okay, I was in this same cituation and here is your best way to get into the class.

Find out the due date for payment of that semster and then be on the computer the very second your schools website opens up the next morning. At my school, the people who register for classes are required to pay by a certain day and if they don't (either because they forgot or decided they didn't want to take the class) there spot in the class is forfited (sp) and is open for whoever gets to it first. I missed out on A&P 2 and freaked, but I woke up eairly the day after the payment due date and found a class! But you have to be quick in grabing the classes. When I checked their were about 10 open A&P classes and by the time I decided which one I wanted and clicked on it, their were only 3 left and 5 mins later they were all gone.

So this may be your best option!

morningland and everyone else,

Thank you so much for all your advice. morningland, I think thats an excellent way to get in the class, however, as a 'new student' and one who has not attended there before, I am not given the privelege of registering online. 'New Students' are told they have to register in person sooo I feel like I SOL!

No, you still may be okay. Your best bet may be to be at that registration office the very second they open up and I mean be the first person in line, So i would maybe even come there an hour eairly like your waiting for some concert tickets or something! That is so unfair that you can't use their website. I don't agree with the whole priority system, even when it benifited me. I think classes should be first come first served. I understand the logic behind it but why should you be held back simply because you have less credits... I think it's unfair and unrealistic. Because if you wer able to use the website you could just constantly check up on it and have a great shot finding your class.
