What am I afraid, nay, terrified of as a nursing student? Many things...
Balancing my school, work, and family life. Unfortunately, I have to work full time while is school and when my nursing classes start will have a 15 year old step son :-)
Failure
Understanding concepts in theory, but not in practice, and vice versa
Pharmacology
Pediatric clinicals - definitely don't want to work with sick children on a daily basis, and I give major props to those who do!
Not being able to get a job as a new grad

Failure is my worst fear. I begin a 2 year Nursing Program in August and i would hate to have worked so hard getting in and not making it. :-(

Can you get a pardon where you are? They are available in Canada and take approx. 2 years to complete.

Hmm, where to start...
-Paying for books, uniforms and equipment and part of the tuition (I'm starting Eastern Suffolk Boces in Sept and financial aid caps at 5,000-and that does not include books, uniforms, tuition deposit, or equipment.)
-That being said, I just found out that I was one of the "lucky" students to be selected for verification for fafsa/financial aid.
-I've had to do phlebotomy when I went to school for Medical Assisting, I didn't really like it but I persevered and somehow got through it. That being said, quite honestly I'm a little petrified of IV's and especially pic lines and mid lines (lol central lines) and lord knows I HATE having to work with a butterfly needle lol.
-I'll say exactly what I said when I was asked what my biggest fear was as a nursing student at my nursing school interview...short and sweet, plain and simply... "I DON"T WANT TO KILL ANYONE!!!!"

My biggest fear is, will I be able to pay for nursing school? I'm not afraid of failing nursing school, because I know I can handle it. But paying for it when you don't qualify for financial aid and your school doesn't participate in the federal student loan program, now that's the stuff of nightmares....... Thankfully, I have all the courses out of the way that I possibly can over the course of the past couple years, so I am about twenty credits ahead of some of the people starting the program. You make sacrifices to get it done. Big time.

Failing!! I want to become a nurse so bad! I don't want having to start all over again in another field. I am also scared that it will take a long time before I get a job or that my student loans will become too high. I am scared of doing something wrong on a patient! I am scared that I won't pass NCLEX. I am scared that I could lose my license one day.

I think a shorter list would be of things I'm NOT afraid of!! I start in exactly 45 days, I'm terrified I will fail. Plain and simple. I'm afraid I will make friends with slackers and it will rub off on me, I'm afraid that I wont be able to handle the workload. I'm even afraid I wont find a parking place.. I could go on and on!
