Nursing School on CNA Resume?

Hey guys! I'm having a little problem. I'm trying to get a new job as a nursing tech at a local hospital and I'm not sure whether I should include nursing school on my resume. It's a full-time job (32 hours per week) in a float pool and I'm not sure they'd want to deal with a CNA who has to juggle work and school.

So, is it worth mentioning?

What are the requirements of the job?

I know all the nurse tech jobs in my area actually require you to be a junior year nursing student in a BSN program or have completed half the education and clinical requirements in an ADN program. In other words, they are specifically looking for nursing students and some require a copy of our transcript to prove standing in school.

Yes, I would include nursing school on your resume. My concern is the fact that it is full time and going to nursing school. I realize some people do work full time and attend school full time, and I honestly don't know how they do it. :lol2: God bless them. By stating your nursing school experience on your resume I feel it will only benefit you in your employment. The fact that you are/will be attending nursing school shows that you are serious about your position and a nursing career in general. Nursing school also provides you with training and experience in which some employers might find desirable. You will be at an advantage because you'll have obtained some type of nursing skills from school which will follow you and be beneficial to you working as a tech..

I don't know if you have started nursing school as of yet or what semester you are in currently, you didn't say. But, I do know at my school we are allowed to apply for nurse tech positions after our first semester of nursing school. These nurse tech positions are normally part-time or perdiem only due to the fact that we are indeed in nursing school which requires alot of our time. If you are great at time management and can juggle school full time and work full time. Go for it then. :)
