nursing majors shouldn't be eating donuts? - page 2

I'm really hurt and embarrassed. I was in a study group with my math professor and I got really hungry. I didn't want to leave to go all the way to the dining hall to get something "healthy" to... Read More

It is ok to feel sad about this... but don't get stuck in it... let this be something that gives you a new calling... You will finish your nursing degree... then go for a nutritian degree (or do a double major or maybe a minor)... then get a MBA... Then you will invent a whole line of healthy donuts and donuts that cuts heart diseases and cancer risks... You will sell it to all the vending machine in all the nursing schools, hospitals, ... whatever... and you will make MILLIONS!!!! -Dan

Do you do those annoying 'rate the instrctor/class' surveys at the end of the semester? The ones that the instructor/department head review AFTER grades are finalized? I would write pages about how inappropriate your instructor was.

I imagine your classmates were probably thinking 'What an arse' as well. I suggest you bring in a whole box of donuts for the class and pass them out to everyone before Prof. Stupidhead gets there. Imagine the look on his face to see each and every student with a big, sugary donut in his/her hand.

How terribly rude. I would have however approached him after class and gave him a not so nice peace of my mind.

Everyone knows that a donut is not the best choice out there but you know what is worst in my opinion. Sitting in lecture starving!

Next time (someone, somewhere will say some thing to that effect again),

Say " Wow. That's a stupid remark for a smart person to make". And then walk away.

It's great, because the person is standing there befuddled, wondering,
"did she just call me stupid? Or did she call me on being a smart person who did something stupid???" You and everyone around you will know the answer, but they simply won't have a clue!

You've put them in their place and they are STILL not sure if they have been insulted, and you feel MUCH better. :chuckle

He's just jealous because a drug or suture rep never brought Kripsy Kremes to his break room! Sorry, but in nursing, we work off those donuts!!

I just love it when the Zimmer Salesman and the other ortho salesman come around. They bring in a catered breakfast and PF Changs for lunch. YUMMM!!!

By the way, your teacher is a poo-poo head!

"that's nice, a nursing major eating a donut."

I would have said "That's nice, an instructor taking it upon themselve to attempt to embarrass a student with their sarcastic unwarranted remark."

That was very immature of the instructor.
I don't agree with a lot of your posts but I think this one is right on the money!

    My response:
Why is a college promoting unhealthy snacks by having donuts in vending machine? Said with a smile as I happily munched away.

Don't let them get to you.

You know what!!! DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!!! I agree too that a doughnut was not the best food choice but seeing how your teacher is, if you would have left for a long time to go get the proper food, he probably would have had something to say about that too like "A nursing student who would rather take her time to go get food than study". Just brush it off. Be proud of your doughnut

I would have just said, "And it's really good too!"

No one has a right to embarrass another person like that.

For your next class, you should bring
    2 donuts!!!
