Now I'm a little nervous!

  1. I applied at a school in Memphis and it only took them 11 days to make a decision whereas all the other schools are taking at least a month and a half. I just found out Memphis is on the New Madrid fault which makes it a area prone to earthquakes. I have never had to deal with earthquakes where I'm from and this has me nervous. Do you think this fact is why I got in so fast? I am really just looking for some encouragement from someone who might live in an earthquake area; I don't want to keep thinking they had few applicants just because of the earthquake possibilities. Thanks for reading this even though it sounds so silly. :uhoh21: :uhoh21: :uhoh21:

:roll :roll No this is not why you got in so fast!!!! haha....sorry. I have lived in Memphis FOREVER, and have never ever ever felt a quake.

Which school did you apply? University of Memphis and UT just expanded and they have bigger departments. They are also two highly, HIGHLY reccommended schools. BAPTIST College is private and really really hard to get through. Also, most schools look at your grades and the better they are the quicker you get in. Kudos to you.

I would recommend coming to Memphis because we have LeBonheur, St. Jude, the Med, and tons and tons of regional hospitals to get every kind of clinical experience you could think of. There are also lots of research programs and many jobs available for nursing students that pay well.

I'm from Murfreesboro and I was accepted at University of Memphis. So, you live in Memphis and no quakes; I feel a little better. Well, I'll be there in January for school. No actually, I'll be there this Friday for orientation.
