Nothing w/ school, just need to vent...

  1. Do you guys just ever have a really bad day, and just think you want to run away? Well, today is one of those days....

First, I have an 8, 4, and 1 year old, plus I babysit my nephew every day who is 4 months old. Well, when he is here, my daughters are HORRIBLE. Since I have to pay attention to him, they really act up. Drives me crazy. I feel very helpless and overwhelmed, like every day!

Plus, I was trying to finish my prereq's at night for 2 more semester at a CC before returning to the university for nursing. Well, because there are so many non traditional students returning to school, my univ. changed the prereq. requirements, and now I don't need what I thought I needed prior to applying to the nursing dept. I just found this out today. But of course it is too close to start of semester to take the ONE class I now need to apply. They are all full. AAAHHHH!!!!!

I could go on and on, but I am sure you be glad that I didn't! Thanks for letting me vent. Some days I just think I will never make it thru the day, let alone school.....

    Hey Ashemson,

We all have those days. Don't fret. You'll wake up tomorrow and start a whole new fresh day and things will be better. Just keep that in mind to get you through the rest of today.

Schools changing the pre-req's on you isn't the first time I have heard that. I had an uncle who was in school majoring in Education and was half way through when his university tacked on a whole extra year!

So, it could always be worse!!!

Consider it one of the many hoops we all seem to have to jump through to get through school.

    Good Luck and Take Care!

((((((((ASHEMSON)))))))))) :kiss I embrace you as I pray for all that tension within you to be released. If nothing more, it will prepare you for the many changes yet to come in your life as life often throws us curves when we expect flatland instead. :chuckle

Suggestion with your girls and the baby? Try including the two older girls in the care of the baby. As for your one year old...cuddle them both at the same time while talking to your one year old in a soft soothing voice....giving her lots of kisses and hugs. She doesn't understand the 'EXTRA BABY' in Mommy's arms. The older two can help diaper change, feed, coo at the baby... and let them flip through the family album as you share with them what it was like when they were babies too. If all else fails to bring about a happy medium with them.....ship them off to the county zoo. Just kidding! How about taking a library trip to the children's section where they can look at books, the eight year old can read to the four year old, and herself. Motherhood is quite a juggling act, that's for sure. :kiss

    school.....
Can you get on a wait list for that class? I have even seen students on the waiting list show up the first night of class to speak to the instructor...sometimes the instructor can add a few extra to his/her class...sometimes where there is a will there IS a way...don't give up!

Yes, I would definately show up at the class that you want, possibly someone will drop, at least the instructor will know that you are interested and a go-getter.

    Good Luck !

At my school you have until the day before class to pay. If you do not pay your bill by then you are automatically dropped from the class.

I have known lots of people in my classes who have done this. They will go to the registrar's office and take the spots of the people who do not pay.

Also, it never hurts to go the first day or two of class and tell the professor that if any students drop it you would like to take their spot. You would be surprised at how many people drop their class after a few days or don't even show up for that matter.

Wow,, you mean if i had waited a couple years to finish my degree that i wouldnt have had to take all the pre-reqs and core classes. Well just my luck.
Good luck getting your class,, hope everything turns out like you need it to.

What class do you need to take? Would it be possible to take it at the University you will be attending for nursing? Don't worry, it will work out.

meownsmile - I still have to take the prereq's, the only difference is that I was originally supposed to have them ALL COMPLETED before even applying to the nursing program. Now, they changed it to where I can apply, and finish those prereq's while in the program. But now it's too late to apply, I will have to wait until next time. That's the sh*** part!!!
