No Motivation to Study! Help!

  1. 0
So I have turned in my nursing school application for summer term and I am waiting to hear if I will be accepted. Therefore, I cannot seem to make myself study for my current classes. They will not affect my admissions status at all. The only reason I signed up to take classes this term is to raise my 3.8 prerequisite GPA in case I need to reapply to nursing school in the fall. I am repeating classes I took in the 1980s and made B's in so I don't really need them. Anyone else having motivation problem? I'm wondering if I should drop the classes. Can someone please play mommy and give me a swift kick where I need it most and get me back to work?

I am in the same boat as you. I wish I had some advice to give, but I don't know how to get motivated either! I am taking my TEAS test on March 3rd and am so not motivated to study. I found excuses all weekend, but I have no choice, I just have to do it

I think work is what is killing me. I am so drained when I get home that I can barley think. I tried exercising the second I get home, and that wakes me up a little... I can't drink coffe after work or I will not be able to sleep at night. I think I am going to set a study schedule and try to tell myself that I cant have any personal time everyday until after I study. Good luck!

I had a fast paced semester last semester but I only have 2 pre-reqs left and hoping to get into the school I applied to for the fall. So I'm taking 1 class now (AP1) and then one in the summer (AP2). My problem is that AP1 class seems to be going slower than I'd like. So it seems like I have a lower motivation to study because I don't feel pressure to do so. If I was taking another class, I know I'd be more on studying as I'd have to balance the classes.

Nothing for you...I'm staring blankly at an absolutely terrible set of questions, and I just can't do it.

It's time to grow up, put your big girl underwear on, and find a way to realize that being really good at something, trying your best - is its own reward.

Thanks everyone. It helps to know I'm not alone. Thanks MN-Nurse I needed that.

Just remember... the sooner you do this/these assignments, the closer you are to be done with them!!! That's my motto.

Amen. I wish I had the motivation to even get to the gym but I just want to go home, sit on the couch and stare off in the distance after a long day. Glad to know I'm not alone!

what mn nurse said. when you find yourself unmotivated, ask yourself why on earth you, a competent and intelligent person, would want to sabotage yourself when you are perfectly able to do what you know you need to do.

now get out there and do what you need to do or i'll give you something to ...... laugh about.
