Needin' some inspiration

i was just wondering if i could have some encouragement right now. i feel soooo burned out right now..i am finishing my last pre-req for school (micro) before i begin the nursing program in the fall. i have put a lot of time into my pre-reqs and have come out making a's in all my classes but i am feeling extremely "uninterested" right now. will the actual nursing courses make much of a difference? i can't tell if i am burned out or if i am ready for the real thing! i also need some encouraging from mothers (or fathers) who made it through nursing school with a husband and children. i have 1 daughter--i don't know, i guess i just need some encouragement! thanks to all!

first of all...................

BREATHE!!!!!! :D

just relax and take it one day at a time. everything will work out if you want it badly enough. sounds like you are having some burnout issues but actual nursing school is very much different than pre-reqs.

i started this entire thing when my youngest son was 8 months old. yes, it's been tough but i've made it and you will too.

prioritize......choose what you really want to accomplish in a day and then work towards that. leave the petty stuff for another day.

you'll do fine!

, melanie. at the end of each semester, i was "itching" to get through because i was soooo tired and felt like, i can not go another minute with school. i think we all have or are feeling this at one time or another. i have children and do understand and when my husband and i were still together, the pressure was on from him (i.e. you are always studying), so yes, i have been there too. just remember this session will be over and it is on to clinical! keep the faith! Melanie, That happened to me too. By the time classes ended this spring I wondered if I would have enough interest to finish...within 4 days after the last class I was ready to get to the nursing classes this fall. I think I was just not that interested in the classes I was taking (like chemistry and writing) I think it will be different when we start the nursing classes and clinicals.

Yep,, me too. By the time i got all the pre-reqs finished i was wondering if i REALLY wanted to do this or not. I bulldozed ahead, and i got finished.

Was a good feeling to look up into the crowd at graduation and see the look of pride on my kids faces. They have been supportive and comforting to me when i was struggling for tests and they have been patient as could be with me.

It's worth it,, hang in there.

Melanie-

Maybe it's the micro! :)

I took it this summer, too. I start nursing classes this fall and also felt like I was burning out and becoming disinterested.

Hang in, I'll be there with you!
