need a little help... ^_^

hello everyone....

Im a very frustrated and anxious nursing student who has to do a speech in front of the whole graduating batch for my english3 class....

everyone has to do a speech... it's equivalent to our finals exam...
and i cant think of a good topic that wouldn't bore the crowd and something that i would be comfortable delivering in front of a lot of people... and a panel of professors for my final exam grade...

can anybody pls help me with a suggestion of a topic? pls.............
any suggestion would really be appreciated....

It's really hard to make suggestions in a vacuum but I'd suggest that you pick a topic that interests you and about which you have some knowledge and experience. You'll do a much better job than with something about which you don't really care.

What are you passionate about? What stirs you up like nothing else? There's nothing that says you can't get up there and talk about the shortage of trained health care professionals, or the abhorrent treatment of our poor, sick and elderly. Or even how you feel in the spring when you see the first pale green suggestion of leaves on the tress. Pick something you can get excited about and you'll find that you'll have to heavily prune it to fit into your time limit! Works for me.

I've learned that public speaking can be fun it you talk about something that everyone can relate to. Remember your types of speaches. Informational are the easiest for me. As a nurse educator, my favorite types of classes are the ones that deal with psychosocial issues or behavioral issues. I once gave a class on "dealing with difficult people". The class really loved when I reviewed the types of "difficult people" because everybody has certain traits that they could relate to and everyone had dealt with difficult people before. This information is not only Nursing, but can be used in everyday life.
