What would be too low of an nclex pass rate for a school to transfer to? If the school has an 88 is that low?

Depends on how badly you want to pass NCLEX. I personally would never attend a school with anything less than 97-100% pass rate. I want a school that really knows how to prepare its students.

In in my state, I've seen nursing schools put on probation for

88% does not sound encouraging to me.

Is the nclex pass rate the number 1 thing you look for in a nursing school to transfer to?

My sister is at school where the pass rate used to be 95 and it abruptly dropped to 62....she's pushing me to go there but I'm worried. I'm really unsure of what to do

88% is a fairly bad pass rate, in my opinion.

62 is a death sentence. Not even ACLS can revive that school.

I'm not playing the one-upmanship game or anything like that, but I graduated from a program with a 47 percent first-time NCLEX pass rate. To me, 88 percent looks good.

88 percent is the national average as far as first-time NCLEX pass rates are concerned.

So you feel your program prepared you regardless of their pass rate?

Nope, but I passed NCLEX on the first attempt after answering the minimum of 75 questions. I attended a live Hurst NCLEX review as well as a Kaplan review to ensure I passed the first time around.

NCLEX is primarily a solo journey if you know how to study independently.

Wow congrats! The one thing that appeals me to the school with a 62% pass rate is that it's cheaper...but I am worried that their passing rate reflects on how the program runs.. you know?
