Missing 4 days of school?

  1. Hi,

I have to miss 4 days of school in October; how do you think my professors will react? I will not be during any nursing course (they start in January.) My schedule will be:

A & P 2 (most worried about the science courses)
Microbiology (most worried about the science courses)
Hx of World Civ 2 (online)
    Amer. Lit (online)
Speech (will miss only 1 course)

Do you think this is okay? I can definetely keep up with the online courses.

    Thanks,
    Michelle

If the 4 days are an absolute must...no getting ot of it/around it...then my suggestion is tell ur instructors closer to time..see what will be discussed sou know what to read, and buddy up w/ someone who takes DARN good notes, who wouldn't mind letting u make a copy of their notes or whatever. i

Usually the course syllabus states that the maximum allowable absence rate is 10% of the total number of classes. I would say it depends on the relationship with the instructor and your grade going into the absence. If you're on the ball and you approach professor privately AFTER you have proven yourself, it will probably be no problem. Obviously, if you're just barely getting by, it's going to be a different response. I think if you approach your instructor in the very beginning before you've had a chance to show your colors, you'll get a "by the book" response.
