What will everyone be doing for their lunchtime? I know I will be packing a lunch most days. I just have no clue what to pack! Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks :)

Good thread! This semester will be my first of NS and we have 3 days of classes from 8am to 3 pm with only 15 minute breaks, until the start of clinicals in October. So bringing lunch is a must! I have no clue what to pack so this has been helpful.

The plurals of words ending in -o are formed by either adding -s or by adding -es. The plurals of many words can be formed either way. To determine whether a particular word ends in -s or -es (or if the word can be spelled either way), check your dictionary or the list below. There are two helpful rules:

a. All words that end in a vowel plus -o (-ao, -eo, -io, -oo, -uo) have plurals that end in just -s:

  • stereo--stereos

  • studio--studios

  • duo--duos

b. All musical terms ending in -o have plurals ending in just -s.

  • piano--pianos

  • cello--cellos

  • solo--solos

c. Plural forms of words ending in -o:
-os
-oes
-os or -oes
albinos armadillos autos bravos broncos cantos casinos combos gazebos infernos kimonos logos maraschinos ponchos sombreros tacos torsos tobaccos typos echoes embargoes heroes potatoes tomatoes torpedoes vetoes avocados/oes buffaloes/os cargoes/os desperadoes/os dodoes/os dominoes/os ghettos/oes grottoes/os hoboes/os innuendoes/os lassos/oes mangoes/os mosquitoes/os mottoes/os mulattos/oes noes/os palmettos/oes peccadilloes/os tornadoes/os volcanoes/os zeros/oes

I have to take items that you do not need to keep in a refridgerator b/c I do not have one available, and my ice packs rarely keep them cold enough for my comfort.

Special K protein shakes

100 calorie popcorn

applesauce

pudding

crackers/graham crackers/goldfish

baggies full of baked lays

nuts

progresso or other ready to heat soup

peanut butter sandwiches

cereal that you can eat dry, like honey nut cheerio's

apples/bananas/oranges/plums/peaches

hormel compleat meals

I will be packing small snack type meals. Protein bars, fruit, nuts, dishes that can be microwaved or sandwiches. I even got a cute new lunch bag for school! : )

Lunch? What is this 'lunch' you speak of? Cannot remember the last time I took a lunch break.

Lol. Im not sure.. My lunch Is usually comprised of my kids fussing and only wanting to eat what's on my plate. Then I get the leftovers. ;) mostly my almost 2 yr old does this. Nap time is right after, so it's hectic. at least I'll be use to eating quickly, huh? Ha!

lunch? as my cousin's two year old is so fond of saying, "huh?"

i always seemed to get nibble breaks at the state hospital instead of actual lunch breaks.

Get a lunchbox and an ice pack or 2, and don't forget about lunch basics that don't necessarily need to be kept cold like fresh fruits or vegetables, peanut butter sandwiches, crackers, etc.

I like to pack a very full bag or container of almonds or cereal at the start of the week, then I have something else to much on if I get hungry in class or pack a too-small lunch, which I seem to do if I pack while sleepy.

Buy some cans of soup, or make your own and freeze it, then on days when you are in a rush, you can just grab and go!

Usually my grocery list for lunch foods for the week includes a loaf of bread, sandwich meat, apples, bananas or another fruit on sale, spinach or lettuce-for sandwich toppings and salads!, some kind of nut, yogurt, and peanut butter or honey mustard if I'm low. If you get sick of sandwiches and plain stuff, just bring leftovers from home.

*sort of unrelated, but I was very proud to make it through my first semester without buying lunch once!
