LPN to BSN online programs

Hi,

I will have my LPN in July, and am wanting to continue to get my BSN. I have a current BS degree in a different field and have found some LPN to BSN programs. The one I am looking at is NDSU because it can be completed online. Are there any other programs that people have taken that they suggest? Or anyone that has/is taking NDSU LPN to BSN program that can give me pros/cons?

Hmm - it may be a state-specific issue, but there are no approved "online" LVN-BSN programs in my state. In order to become an RN, students have to master additional clinical skills - and this cannot be done online. Didactic courses can be delivered online, but clinical labs and practicums have to be "live".

Why not do an ABSN program locally?

NDSU is PRIMARILY online, according to their website. However, three classes must be taken on campus due to the clinical/lab requirements. So unless you plan on moving to Fargo, you're out of luck there.

You're not going to find a completely online LPN-to-BSN program because the BSN is a more advanced license. That means it will require more clinical and lab hours, which obviously cannot be completed online.

Perhaps you may want to look at LPN-TO-RN programs and then look into RN-BSN programs, or look at ABSN programs since you already have a bachelor's.

Indiana University has an Lpn to Bsn program.

Not accepted in all states and requires clinical time just like NDSU.
