Boy...somedays you just have a LOONNNGGG cllinical day......I was slated to be a leader (think student charge nurse)....so, I had to make assignment (4 to one person, 3 to the other), double check charting at x times to make sure it was all done, check meds with students and get them from instructor, make sure all paperwork was done with meds, report off on all patients at the end of the day, make sure IVs were going, new sticks, new orders followed up, put in a foley(poor instructor had to do 4!!!!) (and the poor guy was so full, urine was flowing out around it while I put it in....), help my students solve problems with patients, etc....

So, that foley? Had to put it in at 730, right as we got on the floor....so I had to rely on my 2 students to give me report on their patients...which was ok. We only passed meds on 4, but checking MARs, and making sure VS were taken beforehand were in correct parameters, etc.....

By the end of the day, my dogs were barking....i'm glad to be home....anybody else ever have super LONGGGGG clinicals????
