Okay, here is another reason to get the livescribe pen. (I'm getting one next week)
You can print a diagram on the livescribe paper and then mark areas in that diagram and record about that part of the diagram.
Care to share more uses for this or other similar devices?

What a great idea!! Saved to my youtube favorites. I'm putting off getting one of these until I know for certain I got accepted - but I could have so much fun just playing with it in the meantime.
I am going to add the transcribing software to mine too. A great way to condense notes or make cut and paste into flashcards, etc.

uggh... I am always loosing pens.
Me too. Although I doubt I will misplace a $200 one. I may have to attach an audible locater to it.

I just can't see spending that much money on it especially considering the cost of the special paper and how much paper I know I go through in school. And I can't imagine losing a $200 pen!
Okay, I went and got it today. Wow!! What an amazing piece of technology. You put the pen in its cradle and your handwritten notes with audio go onto your computer and you can search the notes and listen to your professor either on your computer or on your pen. Great audio quality.
Another great feature is if you miss writing down an important piece of info in class, you can add to your notes while listening and it will sync the new notes with the original file.
I am amazed at what this pen can do. Lots of free apps too.

I would love to use something like that. Unfortunately, our school has a no recording policy due to privacy concerns.

I love this pen!!
I have a 40 minute ride to school. I listen to my lectures during the drive.
The pen has great sound quality.
