As of January I will be attending an accelerated 1 year Nursing program. I was told from several teachers and a few current student that working while in school is next to impossible. I have no support system that can help me financially throughout this program leaving me to pay all of my bills. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I can do to support myself if I can not work for a year?
Reduce your hours, go PRN and pick up when you can, or work your regular schedule and make it work. Living off of loans will hurt you in the long run. If you are able to work and be disciplined enough to make time for your school work (thus leaving no personal time for yourself), that's the best option.
I did two 12 hr night shifts (Fri and Sat.) throughout my ABSN program.
