Hi! Right now I'm taking some leftover prereqs I need to get into the LPN to RN program. I work the night shift, so on my nights off I usually study, while my family is sleeping. I'm finishing up Soc 205, I'll be officially done Sept 4th, then this fall I'm taking Microbiology online at the community college here and maybe Intro to Music History of Rock.

Anyone else study late, late at night?

Night shift studyer here. I haven't taken a course in a long time, but when I recently took ECG and PCU courses for college credit, that's what I did. I find it easier to study when the world outside is sleeping. Less distractions. I start some coreqs for the RN to BSN this fall as well. I'm starting with Non-Western Civilization. Sounds interesting.

Kudos to you and keep up the good work!

Not right now, but I like to study then. It's like I get on a roll as the day ends and just keep rolling.

How do you do lab for Micro in an online course, btw?

Sounds like you have a good system developed.

Chris, I knew someone who took micro lab online. The online lab has experiments around the house, like growing mold on bread and other interactive things done online, she said it wasn't easy. I would have loved it, because I hated labs. Except when I took Astronomy, that was a fun lab.

Tweety, Non-Western Civilization sounds like an interesting course. I love History.

Chris, Tweety is right about the labs, you do labs at home. And no, it won't be an easy class. We get a lab kit with instructions, actual cultures, which have to be refrigerated, luckily we have a small refrigerator in the basement, I can put the cultures in. Not sure if I want them near our food.

My sons teases me and calls the basement Moms Lab-or-a-tory. Like a mad scientist would say it.

I finished Assignment 6 for Sociology 205 and now I can play until bedtime and my day sleep. Have to work tonight. My husband starts a new job Monday, and we have to go to his Diabetes class Monday night from 6 until 9. Busy week ahead!

I love afternoon and evening classes and I love doing all of my work at night. I tend to be more alert and more productive at night. If I try an do anything during the day, I just cannot seem to get it done. I'm always able to find something else that needs to be done.

I notice you're in Ore, what CC are you attending?

I'm taking a night class and an independant study class this fall. I used to study at night, but now my 4 year old will be at school in the afternoon for 2 1/2 hours, so I will more than likely do it then when the house is quiet :) It seems every semester I have to rearrange my study time.

I like studying on the night shift when the patients are hopefully slumbering. There's usually a two hour block of time I can pretty much count on to find a quiet place to study.

Yep. I usually study at night from 9 or 10 until about 12 or 1 am. It's after the kids are in bed and the house is quiet, so it just works out well. I'm learning to be a night person AND a morning person (used to be in bed by 10 pm at the latest).

I used to be such a night owl, but now I can barely keep my eyes open past 11 pm. I do best in the afternoon and evenings, providing that children are cooperating of course. :)
