Hi, I am a student nurse and I have been working in both L&D and postpartum in clinicals. I was just wondering if anyone has worked in both of these areas and if they had an opinion on which one was best. I am intrested in both of these areas when I get out of nursing school in May. Thanks!

hi. i personally liked L&D better than PP. I think that PP is more for those people who like working on the regular floors better. i hope this helps.

L&D is where the main event happpens, which is why I love it, but things go wrong more often in L&D than PP. I do pick up shifts in PP too, and I like the teaching, the extended contact with patients and the fact that people are seldom screaming in pain on that floor
