Just venting at midterms

I've gotten As in my last three prerequisites, but Microbiology and Anatomy are beating my ass. I'm at high Bs right now, but after this test, maybe going down to a B.

I'm just confused, reading these posts makes it sound like you have to get all As or almost all As to get into accelerated program or nursing school in general. That would mean you'd have to be in the top 10-15% of your class in every class since the curve generally averages at a C or B- at the most. I just don't understand how only 10-15% of students will be able to get into a nursing school, and the rest are screwed.

Ugh, I'm just beating myself up, I guess. It just gets to be so stressful having the pressure of trying to get all As otherwise you won't get into nursing school mentality.

It depends on your school the requirements. I didn't have to have a 4.0 to get into the program.

3.5 and above should render you very competitive for nursing school.

3.0 is still pretty good. What are your program's minimums?

Now, I applied for nursing school in 1998, so I realize things now are not exactly as they were then. But I still do think it depends on where you are, what the field of applicants looks like, and most places do look at 'intangibles' - things that, for whatever reason make you stand out apart from the pure numbers.

But I got in with a 3.2 GPA, and I went to a nationally ranked nursing school.
