Joliet Junior College Fall 2018 applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello,

I'm applying for the JJC nursing program this February and I'm wondering if anyone else is as stressed as I am? I didnt ask many questions at the meeting with my advisor (we basically went over prereqs, grades, and general program info) so does anyone know how the whole process works? I really need the night program and was told that I could potentially get bumped to the next semester if it fills up with applicants that received a higher TEAS score and higher GPA. I'd appreciate any info.

Thanks in advance,

*K*

I dont have any info on JJC for you, just wanted to say "Hi Neighbor!"

Im currently in the Moraine program!

Hey I go to Moraine too! I'm not in the nursing program though. I just applied to NIU's nursing program and I'm currently just finishing up my last two prerequisites. Small world!

And sorry NSA2RN-ONC that I do not have any info. My cousin is a nurse who went to JJC about ten years ago, but I haven't talked to her in a while. But applying is stressful. I'm glad it's over for me but now the wait is even worse. Good Luck !

Thanks for popping in, guys! I work with a couple girls who are applying to the moraine nursing program soon! Good luck and best wishes!

Hey!

I'm applying for the JJC fall 2018 program as well! I applied last semester and unfortunately didn't make it in, so I re took my TEAS and tried again for the fall semester! I'm pretty familiar with the whole process so feel free to ask me any questions!! Good luck to you!

Misskatie13,

Fingers crossed for everyone applying this semester!! I'm hoping this will be a seamless process, but who knows! Now we have to wait another 6 weeks to find out if we've made it in to the program? Or is it just a letter stating they've received our application? Do you know how many spots are for days vs evenings? This might be the longest month EVER! Best of luck!

Hello! :)

I am in the same boat as I'm not really sure specifically what happens from here! I submitted my application first thing Thursday morning (2/1) and have been anxious ever since then! I had an advising appointment over the phone and we just went over the basics as well as reviewed my transcript/TEAS info. I was told that there are 96 people accepted total, with 24 of them night students. But if anyone else knows of additional info (what happens next, etc.), it would be greatly appreciated!

Best of luck to everyone!

Hello fellow future nurses! I also applied for JJC Fall 2018 Nursing program, like Emmylouwho614 said 96 slots, 24 night students. Anyone score Teas 76+? I scored 72.7, transcript rounded up to 73, have a few prerequisites done. from other message boards about JJC nursing program it looks like you get a qualifier email, then like a month later an acceptance letter in snail mail. also found youtube JJC questions and answers video that's a little helpful... the Dean of nursing said "we look at your teas score and your science teas score (@4:30)... so idk if that's the major piece of the Teas that they don't really go into.

Hope we all get in this semester! Good Luck Everyone!

I filled out the application on Thursday 2/1 as well! I put that I can do nights or days...but not sure which one would work best for my schedule with kids/work. But im glad to see theres 24 spots for nights. Does anyone know the times and days of the classes for the first semester of the program, whether it be nights or days? And what about clinical sites? I asked about those recently and wasnt given an exact answer. I was told that Silver Cross is one of them. I'm getting a little ahead of myself with these questions...hopefully we all get accepted and not have to stress about this again!

Hey!! I just applied for the fall 2018 nursing program as well!! I'm pretty sure night classes go from 4-10 and day classes start at 8? I read a bunch of forums and that's what I got out of it. I got a 77 on my teas and have a 4.0 in my prereqs. I think we get an email in a few weeks saying if we qualify or not, and then one shortly after telling us if we got in or not. I'm really curious as to how many people are applying this time around!

Best of luck to everyone applying!!! Now for the anxious 4-6 week wait...

Thanks, best of luck to you too! But yes, last semester it took about 4-5 weeks for qualifying emails to come out and then another 2-3 weeks to let us know if we were accepted or not. I believe the applicants who are accepted into the program get a phone call before the emails come out. The wait is definitely a drag! Good luck to everyone! Can't wait for decisions to come out so we can all breathe :p

Hello! If you don't mind me asking what did you score on the teas and how many classes did you have completed when you applied?
