Job Interview

Hello All =), 6 more days left of summer session 2 and I am off for a month woohoo =).

I went on a job interview at a local hospital about 2 months ago and I haven't heard a thing yet. I have left 2 messages with the HR rep. that I met with, just a follow up phone call. I hope the HR rep. doesn't see this as harrassment.

The reason for my follow up phone calls is because I want the job badly. If I get this position I'd be working from 11 PM to 7 AM and I'd be able to apply to the Nursing program in October for Januray classes; the day classes are from 8 AM to 1 PM. I would be able to graduate 6 months earlier, as long as I take Child Development and Human Sexuality next summer.

The reason for my post is the follow up phone calls. I really, really want this position but I don't want the HR rep. to feel like I am harrassing her. What do you recommend I do, keep calling or maybe send a letter or just leave it alone?

Thanks in Advance.

Two month's is a long time not to here anything one way or the other. Our hospital sends out letters to let you know if you didn't get the job. I would call the HR department and ask if the postion has been filled, that you have not heard from anyone. Somtimes its hard to get those jobs as an outsider, people inside the hospital are applying for them to, and usally not always get first choice. I started in a temporary postion in medical records in 1992 and 13 years later I'm still here working as a surgery scheduler and getting ready for nursing school. Maybe try somthing PRN to get your foot in the door. and go from there. I wish all the luck in the world to you. You sound determined and I think you will succeed in what ever comes your way.
