It amazes me...

  1. It amazes me how some of my nursing classmates have come as far as they have... In particular, the girl who sits in front of me. Very sweet girl, but sweet doesn't let you pass the test! We're in our third semester of an ADN program, currently covering OB, in particular, today we went over breastfeeding. This chick asks if you can give a baby a CHEESE BISCUIT!!!! People were literally about to fall out of their seat laughing! I have to restrain myself from saying something to her about it. To me that's just something that would be common sense... Anyone in your class like this? -Andrea

There was, but since class is done, i'd rather forget about them.

I think you might be right. We had one or two like that in my CNA lecture. Thank goodness neither of them were in my clinical group.

No, I honestly don't think she knows any better. She was honest in her question, no joking tone or anything...I think that's the scariest part of all.

We have the ones who dont listen to instructions and then when we are done they ask questions about what we have just been told.

I went to school with people like that and work with nurses like that.

    MD Order: Heplock IV.
Nurse to me: The patient has a central line with a running IV, does that mean I have to start a hep lock in his arm when it says heplock IV? (This is a nurse who has several years experience, even critical care experience.)

    (Disclaimer, if you're a student and don't get it, that's o.k.)

The stories I could tell being a charge nurse.
