Registation starts today and I am trying to figure out what classes to take this semester. I know for sure I am taking A & P 1 and Pharmacology. I need these classes to apply. Now I should note that I took both of these classes at a different school and aced them but credits didn't transfer. :angryfire Which is why I am just now taking them, I thought they were covered. Anyways I'm trying to decide if I should take nutrition as well. I think it will be easy, but I also thought statistics would be a breeze. I'm trying to take it easy this semester because I am getting married at the end of April so I will have lots of stress in the next few months. So those of you that have taken these classes, how would you rate them, easy or hard? I am good in sciences, I have always made A's with minimal studying, if that helps. Thanks!

I didn't think nutrition was difficult at all.... You do have a heavy class load. Really Nutrition was alot easier to me than A&P...... GOOD LUCK

For me personally Nutrition was a breeze, but that is the one course where we lost most of our classmates. A lot of people failed it and were then forced to leave the program. Only you know best how much you can handle!! Good Luck to you!!:)

I'm just starting nutrition, had first class yesterday. Many students that have taken it before told me it's going to be very difficult. That being said, I found the first lecture to be very straight forward and easy to follow. If the whole class is as easy to understand as the first day, I'd say go for it. :)

I'm sure some of it depends on the instructor, but I thought Nutrition was extremely easy. But then again, I though statistics, Micro, A&P's were easy too. Mostly you'll be learning how to read nutrition labels, calculating BMI (easy), a bit of A&P stuff as it relates to the digestive system and certain disorders (lactose intolerance, etc). I can't recall one single thing we did that could be considered hard, aside from making some sense out of the exchange system (just memorize it lol).
Good luck!

Man, that's a lot of classes to take!!! To tell you the truth, Nutrition for me was an absolute breeze. Then again, my professor was an amazing teacher and she really enjoyed what she was doing, so that made it easy for us. I loved that class. You really learn a lot. I think it depends on who your professor is and how he/she approach the subject, too. For example, my professor was a Registered Dietician and her knowledge food and to combine it to make it good for you was wonderful.
A&P 1 was OK for me as well. However, the assignments and the studying were a lot more in depth and heavy than Nutrition. I had an MD teach that class and she also enjoyed what she did. She was good about giving specific notes on power point and telling us what she wanted us to study and not study.
The complexity and "easyness" of the subjects depends on how organized you are and how well your professor teaches and approaches the subject. If you keep your time balanced, you'll be fine. Good luck!!!

Like luvmy2angels, many in my class had difficulty with nutrition, but I totally enjoyed it. Ours was also taught by a RD and she taught at a much higher level than her successor. I think she was hoping we'd all drop nursing and go into her field
Ours wasn't simply learning food groups, etc, however...we had to *know* the Krebs cycle, all the ins and outs of PRO, CHO, etc...

If you make A's with minimal studying, and you've already taken the two classes you're taking now, Nutrtiion will be a breeze for you. Good luck. Congrats on the impending wedding.

When I took it, it was alot of physiology of the digestive system. It was more like A&P II then learning the food groups and vitamins. It did require studying and it helped that I had taken both A&P's. It was harder then I thought it would be. It wasn't required but, I am glad I took it just for everyday use. We had to keep a log of our diets, I was pregnant at the time and it was very enlightening! Enjoy it!

Seems like you will be fine with your current grades! Good luck
Thanks everyone for the replies! I have always had good teachers in my science courses and I had to know the krebs cycle front to back, top to bottom, so that's covered! I think I will take nutrition too.

Nutrition is a very easy course. I majored in Nutrition, got a BS in 1997.
