Is Adaptive Quizzing worth it?

So I bought my books new from Amazon cuz I thought I would get an access code to the stuff, but it doesn't look like it is included. But at the same time, I see they are selling the access code cheaper than Elsevier. Is it worth getting?

Also, they have the access code to the previous edition for half the price. Should I get that instead?

I would say it mostly depends on what your learning style is, as well as what is included with the access code. I'm surprised there was no access code in the book! When I was in school, I purchased all my books from amazon and all that I can think of had an access code with it. But anyways, most have "companion" sites, which do not require an access code, just that you purchase the book. If you look inside the front cover or first couple pages, you will usually find a website for the companion site. A companion site will have resources on there for you, and usually NCLEX style questions. You could also use google to find the companion site. If you do find the companion site and that doesn't have what you want or not enough, or you can't find a companion site and want to purchase the access code, then go for it! But again, it would mostly depend on if that kind of testing will help you and if the price is worth it for what is included. It is really a personal decision. I used access codes when they came with the books, but never purchased them outside of that. A lot of my instructors required us to purchase Prep U, which I do believe helped a lot. Good luck!

If your school doesn't require you to have access to Adaptive Quizzing and you just want to purchase it as a personal study tool, then the previous edition should be fine. However, if it is required, then you might need the access code for the edition being used by your instructors because they will give you a special key to enroll in their course once you've gained access to the Adaptive Quizzing (if that makes any sense).

I think publishers realized that there was no reason to give away access to extra resources when they could charge an arm and a leg for them, so some publishers now restrict access to those resources unless you pay the additional fee.

I'd recommend the NCLEX review one for 36 months, I LOVED it. I bought it directly from Evolve. It includes all of the subjects instead of book by book.

That's not my experience. Almost all the textbooks we used had a companion website that went with them! I guess I just got lucky!
