jan, welcome! how is the move coming?

hi all, i have been reading this board for a long time and never had the guts to sign up...

i am jan, age 36, i have one little girl age 3 and 2 doggies...(i am married)...i currently live in co., but will soon be moving to austin, tx, do to my husbands job transfer...

i am a part time student completing my pre-reqs...

i have had to take some time off with this move, i am very frustrated with this. it took me along time to get back to school and i completed 5 classes and found out about the move...since the date of the move is pending on the sale of our home, i can't go to school incase we move mid semester...

i feel i am going backwards, i want to restart class as soon as we get to austin, but with residency and all i am struggling between the additional cost and just wanting to cont. school...

anyway, just wanted to say hi

everyone!

how about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

care to share?

i am kim, 30 years old, married to a great man named bryan and we live in ny state. we have three children...trey is four, piper is two and bryce is five months. i went to school for one semester in the spring of 2001 and got my psychology, a&p i and math courses in. then, i had my daughter and put off school. now that i am done having kids, i am going back to school full time in the fall in a 2 year rn program at the local community college. i then intend to go on and become a cnm within ten years. (my big goal!)

Hey all,

I am a nursing student in my second semester of an 8 semester BN degree. I live in Canada, and would love to hear from anyone else in the same program. I have three kids (3,6, & 8) and I am 32 years young.

Look forward to getting to know you all,

Rachel

actually, i am not in the lpn-rn mobility program. i decided to enter the generic rn program since i have been an lpn for a long time.

at the school i attend, the mobility and the generic rn programs is only a one semester difference and like the generic program, starts once yearly.

the school closest to me that allow lpns to up-grade in only three semester is too far for me to have driven.

prayerfully i have only 8 weeks left until graduation! i decided on asn for my immediate plans [and the school is close] but will go back for bsn in the near future.

i am almost positive that, in my immediate areas, schools in my state does not offer less than 4 semesters to "up-grade" from lpn-asn.

5 semesters to upgrade? bsn i hope? thats a lot, here it is 2, but for adn program upgrade.
