Hi all, I'm new to this board. I'm interested in becoming a Nurse and hopefully will be starting nursing school Feb 2003. Its a 2 year degree prgram for R.N. I'm kind of nervous because i dont know what to expect from this its a big challenge for me. I would like to become a nurse because I'am a very compasionate person and would like to care for the sick. And also feel I acomplished an important goal in my life and feel useful to society and make a difference. I personally dont know any nurses to ask questions about life on the job. But thank God i found this website to find information on some things I was curious to know about. To all the professional nurses out there, what advice would ya give me on what to expect?.... Later..................

Hi! I have worked as an EMT on an ambulance for the past 6 1/2 years, have taught and done CPR, and trained as a Medical Assistant. I'm 48 years young, and have decided to obtain my ADN to start. I'm primarily interested in working ER, that is what is most familiar to me. And, like most people in EMS I'm an adrenaline junkie.

I've been studying on my own for a while now, trying to recapture the basics in math, chemistry, etc. A lot has changed since I was in college twenty-five years ago. I think I'm self-motivated enough to do the Distance Learning, but like the idea of having some support here to come to. And maybe some encouragement confidence building when it comes to Algebra. I'm also divorced, no children, but have a beautiful Alaskan Husky.

I am married, mother of five, 22, 20, 19, 17 and 14 in school working on my masters. Just took a job in sales and I really enjoy it. Something totally different after 16 years in nursing. I still use my degrees in recommended products.

Hello everyone!!:roll I am 42- doing the RN Refresher program after a 9 year hiatus from nursing (after my husband was killed in a mining accident). I don't have any children, and have remained single. I have completed everything, including my preceptorship in the ER, except for 3 assignments- I have been procrastinating for no reason that I know...it is thru distance education, so without the deadlines in a classroom, I am really good at doing everything except the assignments...it feels amazing to be back, and this site is great for passing time (and great info) when I should be doing my homework!!!HELP!!!
