LOL I don't think you are crazy; I think it's AWESOME!! Also I get to realize more and more every year ... 50 is not old! Seriously, good for you!! Is it something you have always wanted to do or is this new?

WTG .. I am thinking the same thing about my two oldest who have graduated from high school .. I am going to beat them but not by a whole lot!
I've been picking away at it since I left high school but didn't really settle on nursing until last year- always intersted in the medical field though. I had the good and bad experience of taking care of my sister with terminal cancer and then my mother until her death so I figured the next time it would help to know more about what I'm doing and not have to rely so much on others. It's not easy being a control freak and not knowing what's really happening! I really learned a lot and gained confidence through those experiences and I guess that settled it for me. It seems to fit my personality and interests perfectly.
    Thanks for your reply!

Hey I just noticed you are from Manitoba! I buried my mom in "Windypeg" in 2003. Born in Montreal, raised mostly in U. S. I hadn't been back until then and reconnected to family. It was GREAT. Winnepeg is much like Kansas- no wonder my mother felt right at home here.

    Hi all

I'm halfway through my B.N. in NZ. This is a second career for me, having worked for a number of years in corprorate planning before deciding that I hated it. So far I'm finding the course work to be not too demanding, and the people I'm meeting on clinicals are great. However I find giving injections freaks me. I've Just given my second one today while on clinicals and find that I am still fingers and thumbs and that nothing is as smooth as what my head says tells me it should be. But with practice that should come right eh

    Hi Everyone!

I am a 23 year old single mom of one 2 year old girl (Autumn). My name is KaSandra, most people call me Kat.

I live in Regina SK right now, and was just recently deferred from the RCMP. Thankfully, my back up plan panned out and I am headed to Brandon Manitoba's Assiniboine Community College to take the 18 month LPN program. I am nervous and excited! I've been out of school since 1999, with the exception of some upgrading in 2003 (when I was pregnant with my daughter).

I plan on taking my course and re-applying to the RCMP. Ultimately, the RCMP is my dream, Nursing is very similar to policing in the Human services aspect which is why I chose it. If I do decide to stay with nursing, then I would eventually like to become a Psychiatric Nurse.

So that's my story! Looking forward to getting to know you all!
