another homework assignment? You've had alot of luck getting them done for you on this site. That won't help you in the long run-you need to know where to gather information.Try any search engine for the first part of your question. Try common sense for the second part-what criteria would ANYONE use when choosing an attorney? Why? Good Luck-this will get easier

Yeah I dont think any nursing student has had the unfortunate experience of finding a defense attorney. Im sure there is a wealth of information on google.

I think if the internet died tomorrow, we would alllllllll be screwed. OMG What are encyclopedias? LOL Just imagine.

This happened to several nurses I worked with.
  1. The facility lawyers consulted with them because the facility was also sued. You can always ask the facility attorney to recommend someone. Like doctors, attorneys specialize in the type of law they practice.
  2. If you have malpractice insurance, you notify your insurance company immediately that you have been sued and they provide you with representation.
  3. There are lawyer referral phone lines (kind of like 1-800-DENTIST) and websites that you can go to for a referral.

Thank you for all the helpful information. I have to admit that I need lots of help as I said I am a first semester nursing student. But, one day when I gain more experiences from this field I will definitely help a new comer who don't know what to do. I have to admit that I am lucky to find this website and I also admire daytonite to devote her time to helping the new comer like me and others out there who really need help. You give me the inspiration as I think what you are doing right now is something really helpful and that make me feel like I also want to do the same thing when I gain more experiences.

I did the search on the google, I found some information about it, but it wasn't enough so, I think the purpose of this website is to allow nursing all over the world to be able to share and help each other, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm sorry that I can't help anybody at the moment.

Thanks again for all the people out there who are SO nice and be there to help us.
With respect,
Cloudybay
