This patho mid-term was a killer. Definitely the hardest exam I've done so far. And it didn't help that the instructor tricked us with that fake study guide she handed out earlier. I kinda suspected she might try to pull something so I studied my guts out for the past couple weeks, but even so, the level of difficulty of her questions caught everyone off guard. It was hard to even understand what most of the questions were asking because the scanarios were soooo long and confusing and just reading them took up most of the time.
I've never found myself guessing the answers to so many questions on any exam before. I thought it was just me, but after the exam, everybody else was saying the same thing. Now we're all super stressed over whether we'll have enough points to pass the class. It wouldn't be the first time that this instructor failed an entire class.

Well if it isn't the first time she's failed an entire class, your class can request that the Dean of your faculty look over the test to make sure it all kosher.

I'd be raising a stink!

Aw man, that all sounds horrible. I'm sorry you're so stressed.

Why did you take the teacher though? I imagine it was your only option or the only summer class and you needed to get the class out of the way.

I know that if I had knowledge of some teacher failing an entire class before there's no way I would make my way into her class. Challenges are great but failure is not fun.

I wish you luck and I hope you end up passing in the end.

After all, that's all that matters!

How can a teacher give out a fake study guide, that just sucks majorly. It is not fair, I mean come on...a test (in my humble opinion) has nothing to do with how you will perform as a nurse. Yes it measures your knowledge but it shouldnt' be tricky and decietful!

Shel, you must be psychic. That's exactly what happened. They didn't have another instructor to teach the class during the summer so they asked her to do it. It was the only available class so I had no choice but to take it. This instructor has been formally challenged by her students on another campus of the university before, but she is well liked by the administration and nothing came out of it.

The study guide she gave was useless. She told us to concentrate heavy on priority nursing interventions, the main signs and symptoms of the diseases specified on the handout, and the general patho of each disease. Of the 25 or so diseases, it was mostly the ones that were not on her study guide that were on the exam.

It would really suck if I fail this course because then my graduations plans for next year would be out the window.

I detest the "fake" study guides!!! It ranks right up there with the 1/2 page study guide that lists the six general topics of what has been discussed over the semester and no direction or details at all. What's up with that?
