I think I got into St. Scholastica in Duluth (MN)! Thanks to all of you who wrote to my previous posts for your thoughts and support...I hope to frequent this board when I start school next fall, but we'll have to see if I have any time!

So what happened was...yesterday, I received another application in the mail, 3 weeks after I sent in my first! I emailed the admissions office and asked if they needed another, and the reply was - Must have been a mistake, mailing out a letter regarding acceptance, congrats and see you next year!

Yeah! I am so happy - I can only assume that means I was accepted!

Now for the hard part...paying for a private college! We'll be moving and our fundage will be more than cut in half, plus I won't be working full time (mom will cover childcare, so at least that's not an issue)...unfortunately, the tax statements will reflect this year's income! So...after the 1st year, grants and loans should cover the majority, but...has anyone else been in this position? Are there any great nursing scholarships, returning students, or working mom scholarships around that you've found?

I'm in Georgia now, but grew up in MN. St. Scholastica is a good school! Congratulations. It will be hard financially the first year...that's what loans are for. Plus, I don't know how old you are, but if you are a non-traditional student you qualify for aid usually from the school and from other sources. You need to do some footwork, though.

If it's the school you want and it's for what you really want to do, I say do whatever it takes! And, by the way, when you get there, keep me posted on things. I miss home!

Some of the local hospitals in my area offer scholarships if you agree to work for them after graduation. That might be something you could investigate. Best of luck to you!

Some private colleges really do offer their own scholarships ! I would definately check with them. :)
