I should be happy, excited, thrilled but...

So I just registered for the NCLEX. I have mixed emotions about it. I've been at this for forever it seems - so long now that being a nursing student has become a lifestyle all its own. On one hand, I am excited to begin a new chapter...On the other, I am dreading the readjustment phase - that period of time when you reintroduce yourself to average daily life. Registering today made this whole graduation from nursing school thing so much more real. It is no longer this far off, fuzzy goal that I hesitated to even have in my sights in the beginning. It's here, and it's staring me in the face.

    Just wanted to share.

I have one more semester left and I'm thinking just as you are. I'm so used to getting up early and studying and studying. My life now is studying. It's been difficult and quite frustrating at times and sometimes I think that I won't even make it to the end. Be excited that you did finally make it and that this transition, although difficult, will be rewarding and satisfying knowing that you worked your rear end off for this. You deserve every bit of happiness that goes along with it.
    Good for you

Congratulations! Knowing there is about to be a change is overwhelming. But once that change comes, you will be so busy with the outcome that you won't have time to think about it. Good luck to you on your NCLEX.

You'll be great! Since I feel pretty confident you'll pass with flying colors I'll be the first to welcome you to the ranks of the licensed.

I still get that "gulp - can I really do this?" feeling every time I face a transition, too. It's the people who don't ever question or internally evaluate themselves that I worry about.

This thread came right on time for me - I'm feeling this way after receiving my acceptance to nursing school. I know it's going to be so hard, and while I believe I'm up to it intellectually, I'm really struggling with my time management. My inner 9 year old brat "doesn't wanna - wah!" Man, I want to strangle her sometimes lol
