I Passed the NET!

Students General Students

Published

Finally, after a two week wait from taking the NET and a year and a half of taking pre-req's, I'm finally going into the LPN program starting in Aug. I'm so excited!

I'll finally be able to call myself a student nurse! :chuckle If all goes well, I will be done with the program at the same time my oldest daughter starts college (aug 04). Just in time for tuition bills!

Thanks in advance for any well wishes, I'm going to need them!

Congratulations!!!

I just started an LPN Program In January myself. I really like it but you have to study ahead of time and stay focus. I know the hard work is going to pay off for me in the end. I know for yourself it feels good to do something that you always wanted to do. So, congratulations to you again.

I bought "The NET Study Guide" from my school. It costs $40! Plus, the test itself cost $30. All in all, it's a good book to study from, it's written by the same people who write the NET. The book also includes a couple of practice tests. I would recommend it, but the price I paid was outrageous. The book itself is only 158 pages long!

Geekymomma,

I can not believe that you had to pay $40 for the study guide... I got my off of half.com for $8 a couple of weeks ago... I hope it is the same one... Is yours a small book, blue and white cover with girl on the front holding books... Mine does say the NET Study Guide. The publisher is Educational Resources and the contributors are Michael Frost and Mitchell Jarvis...

I have been going through it to study but have not got to the practice test yet.. Is this the only thing that you used to study for the NET test? I also have the RN Pre-Entrance Exam put out by the NLN too... I have to take the test here in a few weeks and I am very nervous... I do not have a very solid algebra foundation, so I am concentrating on that area but I am reading in the study guide (if it is the right one) that the comprehension part of the exam is a little different than the normal comprehension exam. It is saying that a few of the answers could be right but you have to have read the passage well enough to pick the best one. Is this what you experienced?

Thanks for all of your help..

thanks for the info! I was going to take the test this year but had some unexpected things come up.... (medical problems) and I have to w/drawal from school this semester. I'm going to pick back up ( God willing) in the fall. So... in the meantime I'll be studying for the test.

Best of luck to you in your program!

Oh, I am so sorry..... Congratulations.... That was the first thing I meant to say at the beginning of my previous message.. I know that you are extremely tickled... You worked hard to get where you are right now... You should go out and celebrate.. Lord knows, from the posts I have been reading, you will not have the time to celebrate after August when LPN classes start..

Sounds like I got ripped off! I bought the book at the school when I signed up for the test. I bought it there because I was afraid I wouldn't find it anywhere else. Oh well, live and learn.

Don't concentrate too much on the algebra, there's only a couple of algebra questions on the test. Study the rest of the math (basic conversions ie: % to fraction, fraction to %, decimals, etc)

I was really worried about this test but looking back I realized that I shouldn't have been. The math is 10th grade stuff and shouldn't be intimidating. Relax, and study the guide and you'll do just fine.
