i am in need of some advice please!! i am signed up for human physiology with a lab. i also am signed up to take intro to pharmacology and fundamentals of nursing i. that will be 12 hours total. the one teaching the course is all about essay and short answer tests. however, next semester it will be a different instructor. she is all about multiple choice tests. i will also just be getting my feet wet with the nursing program itself. i got a b for the first half of the course.

here is to question should i take the physiology class this semester or next?

Good luck! I'm sorry but I'm not quite understanding what you are asking advice on?

should i take the human physiology and lab now or wait until i get the pharmacology class out of the way. because i was told it was the hardest class in the whole nursing program. thanks for letting me know you read the post. did i explain it a little better? sorry!:o

you know your situation best, all programs are different and i am sure you know the pros and cons of each side. Make a list (of the pros and cons) make your decision, and then dont look back! Be decisive

good luck with nursing school!

Only you know what you' :p re capable of doing. Talk with your advisor - he/she can tell you what other students have done. Remember, though, nurses are "multi-task" people. We face challenges with a smile. (just kidding). Talk with your advisor. :p :p

typically in most programs, anatomy and physiology classes must be taken either before you begin the nursing sequence OR concurrently. In my program, I will be taking A&P I while taking Nursing 1 and A&P 2 with Nursing 2. You should definitely check with your advisor to make sure that you delay the physiology class you are not jeopardizing your ability to proceed through the sequence of nursing classes.

Agree with Ross1 on this. A & P in my school is a prereq, and really is essential to fundementals of nursing. Also, you will find Pharm. extremly difficult without it.

Good luck - just my .02.

Thanks everybody for your postings.:)

I would take the Physiology course now, and if you decide you have to drop a class then make it the pharmacology. Physiology is going to help you in the nursing courses and the pharmacology courses and best to get it out of the way first. Sounds like you have quite a challenge if you take them all, but you can do whatever you set your mind to. Good luck!

It's going to be a challenge for me as well. This fall I am taking A&P 1 (4 cr), Pharmacology (3 cr) and Nursing Adaptation 1 (6 credits). I had hoped to get A&P out of the way before starting the nursing classes, but due to some curricula changes and my school, this was not possible. Fortunately, I've already taken Microbiology and all of the general ed, humanities, and social science requirements transferred from my previous degree.

do you have summers off? i also need to take physio, and plan on doing it next summer all by itself.

I agree with Tweety.... take the a&p class now because you will find you really do need it with the nursing classes. :) Good luck!!
