Hard work has its own rewards.... It's almost over, It's almost over, It's almost over (the semester, that is, at least that's what I've been telling myself lately when I get exhausted of cramming for finals - Ugh!)

I feel your pain. I am half-way through my bought of second term final exams and am sick of it all. I always crap-out at the end. We have had more tests in our nursing program than in any other program my friends are studying in. Every week we have had midterms, essays, projects, ugh! :angryfire I am going nuts cramming for my finals. I cannot wait until this week is over and I am free until the fall! :hatparty:

Man, ever since Easter break, all I've wanted to do is lay around, enjoy the weather, drink margaritas (or anything else with alcohol in it, for that matter!)...anything but school.

However, back in the "real world", there are papers to write, finals to study for, projects to do...and we're all down to the wire. A few more weeks left!! Hang in there!! WE CAN DO IT!!!! Good luck to everyone on their finals!

i know how you feel. last semester in my anatomy class, i would study like 8-12 hours in the 2-3 days before a test. i did do very well, but the girl that sat next to me always did just about as well or better, and she would be like "oh yah, i studied for like an hour this morning." i dont know if i believed that or not, but if its true, then she must have a photographic memory or something.

RNKitty, do you know what/where you are going to be doing for work when you get done in July? How exciting!
Where is Middleburg, FL? It seems like I've seen a sign on I75 but I can't place it. I'm down in Highlands county (aka B.F.E., in the orange groves sort of between Orlando and Lake Okeechobee).

I have my last final next Tuesday, had one this Tuesday also. Have a bunch of little projects I have to finish tomorrow. One week off before summer semester. Good luck everyone, hang in there... muster up that one more burst of energy (LOL)

    MitchsMom,
Middleburg is right outside of Jacksonville, its a very small town but we like it here. I know this sounds bad but I am still unsure about where I would like to go to work. One part of me says OR OR OR the other part is telling me to try something new. What do you think you are going to do?

Actually, I'm a little aggravated because yesterday a classmate claimed they only need to study two hours before a test and that they still get A's.

I don't know if it's really true or not (you know how people BS about these things.)

But, as I'm facing yet another weekend glued to the books instead of swimming in my pool (where I want to be) the remark sticks in my mind. I WISH it would only take two hours tops for me to study for a test and do well.

Such is my lot in life. BTW, if you're going to post that you're a particularly brilliant student with a photographic memory that aces every test with minimal study time, please don't. I'm already depressed.

    (Just kidding, sort of.)

I have very little "short term memory". I had fellow classmates (younger ones) that could party the noc before a test, open up the book for the first time two hours before the test and ace it. I on the other hand, had to read the chapter, reread the chapter, reread the chapter and highlight the pertinent stuff, take the pertinent stuff and trasfer it to my computer to make study cards, which I would read on the way to school to get that same ace.

The difference is, my studying went into long term memory and remembered, while short term memory stuff is dumped by the brain to get ready for new short term stuff.

    Studying pays off.

I got an AB for my Human Physiology course! Yes! I completed all of my prerequisites.

Next, nursing school in September; I have 5 long semesters to complete...
