Howdy

  1. Heya Folks!

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! I kept trying to get to these forums all semster but, you know how that goes.

I've made it past the first turn. I finished AP1, Inogranic Chem and Developmental Psych with 4.0! First time in my life I've made straight "A"s.

This semester is AP2, Microbilogy (with a Cornell/Yale grad as prof, coolness!) and a snoozer English called "Technical Report Writing".

I've got to sit the ACT on Feb 8th but I'm not worried. I made a 24 (of 36) on the practice test online having never seen the ACT and not knowing what to expect.

The ACT is my last hurdle before I can submit my app for nursing school at San Jacinto College (where's my fellow Houstonian nursing students?). I've gotten 2 vets (one previous employer and one current) as well as our office manager at my current practice to offer me letters of reccomendation. I don't want to get overconfident but, I'm pretty sure if I can keep at the current pace, I'm a lock!

So, anything particularly interresting I missed the past semester? (dumb question, huh?)

Oh, and the veterinary profession is losing yet another great nurse to the RN world. After a rather lengthy chat, my best buddy from RVT school is following me in the cross-over to human nursing.

    thanks!

i've developed two mantras in the past semester -
    "nothing worth doing is easy"
"anything worth doing is worth doing well and with max effort"

its why i have a 4.0, am now a 14 month ex-smoker, have lost 50lbs and have muscles (well, ones worth looking at) for the first time in my life.

the weekend before christmas i got to go out with my friends for the first time since the beginning of the fall semester (i work full time too). they joked that now i play as hard as i work. i used to be kinda, well, boring...

life ain't easy but it sure is fun! :d

Definetely two great mantra's to follow vettech! Infact I think I'll graciously borrow them for my own work if you don't mind.

    Good luck on your ACT!
