Lol this question cracked me up

It's scarier than it is funny.

first week and we were escorted from class to the toilet. good luck. Drugs of any kind other than what a medical professional decide you need have NO place in nursing. that includes nursing school.

Anyone that has a concern over failing a drug test has NO BUSINESS being a nurse.

as my instructor said " if your even the slightet concerned about taking a drug test, then you should go ahead and leave because you dont belong here."

I agree with her opinion.

not that I condone nurses using drugs, but I think most people in this thread are being way too sanctimonious. maybe the OP just wants to smoke a joint at a Halloween party this weekend, before she even starts nursing school. who knows. she just asked a question, there's no reason to jump all over her and call her an addict. it doesn't mean she'd be a bad nurse.

Thank you so much. I have no beef with being drug free whatsoever. People do not know me, no reason to jump to any conclusions.

Keep in mind that "just smoking a joint" is illegal ;) I dont condone illegal activity of any kind. Maybe OP isnt an addict but even part time drug users are partaking in illegal activity. But hey whatever. Maybe she/he will be your nurse someday lol

Thank for fast diagnosis...

A lot of ridiculous things that don't harm anyone are illegal. Am I a bad nurse because I take my kid to feed the ducks at the park? That's illegal in my town.

Maybe she had a terrible headache and took a lortab that she had leftover from getting her wisdom teeth pulled last year. Who knows, who cares. I'd take a nurse who occasionally smokes pot over one that is a stuck up witch any day. The OP hasn't even started school yet.

We did our pee test about 2 weeks before clinicals began.

As for feeding ducks, you know you are giving them proteins that they can't digest and in doing so, they are just making excessive poop and polluting the body of water and land they are living in/on. Anyway, I agree, the OP was just asking a simple question. Not sure you can admonish him/her about illegal drug use. Per the facility that we do clinicals in, we can be tested at any time.

lmao. ok good deal.
